Coach Bobby Dowd was absent, but he was there in spirit. The assistant coach Joe Fulghum took charge. Carey knifed off tackle from the one yard mark, following McLaughlin's 57 yard run, to score the first touchdown. Reese Parker plunged across from the two yard distance to score the second touchdown. In the third quarter Parker legged it off tackle five yards for his second touchdown of the night. Carey made all three placements, and Wetter made a safety. The Sea- ford's forward wall, lightning fast, broke up every advance the tribe attempted. SEAFORD 34 MILFORD 32 The Blue Jays struck fast with five touchdowns to take a 34-13 edge at half time. The re- serves could not hold back the Buccaneers from free scoring during the second half. Both Mc- Laughlin and R. Parker made two touchdowns, Parker with nine and four yard runs, and Mc- Laughlin with a 55 yard punt return and an 80 yard pass interception. Carey ran 35 yards to score another touchdown. He kicked three points while McLaughlin rushed over for the other. SEAFORD 27 CAMBRIDGE 6 The Blue Jays continued their undefeated flight by thumping Cambridge 27-6. Coach Dowd played an effective aerial attack. Three of the touchdowns resulted from passes. R. Parker carried over two of the scores, McLaughlin and Lank contributed one apiece. Carey made two extra points and Hitch, one. This costly victory involved a broken leg for Robert Rice and a fractured arm for Hastings. Handy was moved to the end position. . -au? .fu f 4w z? Carey gallantly led the team to victory in the Battle of the Unbeaten, by plunging across the two yard mark, and then booting the extra point. The defensive play of tackle, Pane, and Handy, linebacker, was also noteworthy, SEAFORD 12 LEWES 0 The Blue Jays extended their undefeated flight to five straight with a 12 to 0 win over the Lewes High Pirates. Gib Cool made a first quarter touchdown with a 25 yard pass from Mc- Laughlin. In the third stanza McLaughlin got loose for a 12 yard run to register the second touchdown. Carey was a standout, both offensively and defensively. Handy's game also was creditable. SEAFORD DELMAR The scheduled gmae with Delmar was cancelled because the Delmar school board refused permission for its team to play two games in one week. The scheduled date was rained out. SEAFORD 0 LAUREL 13 A Thanksgiving Day gathering of 2,500 rain-drenched fans saw the Laurel Bulldogs romp to victory. The Blue Jays presented a serious threat late in the final period when Rowland Carey drove to the Bulldogs' threeg however, a five-yard penalty wiped out the Blue Jay's hopes.
