FlFlRlI-Hll-Y The purpose of this club is 'fto create, maintain and extend throughout the school and community high stand- ards of Christian character. The Tri-Hi-Y this year undertook many projects. At Christmas time they collected toys and tree decora- tions to send to the Delaware Colony to help make the children's Christmas a happier one. During the winter months, several representatives from the club attended the Regional Conference at the University of Nlaryland. The girls spent a very enjoyable week-end at the Univer- sity. A few months after the Conference, several Tri-Hi-Y girls and several Hi-Y boys presented in an assembly a discussion of boy-girl relationship. The panel brought out some very good ideas. In March the Tri-Hi-Y girls gave a banquet for the State Chorus, which was held in Seaford this year. The banquet also turned out to be a great suc- cess. During basketball season the girls sponsored a Sock Hop after one of the home games. Another Saturday night they sponsored a Sock Hop to make up for the Canteen which was at that time unavailable. To help the Seaford Memorial Hospital, the Tri-Hi-Y girls worked a whole day packaging food, which had been collected during the hospital's food drive. This service was very helpful and greatly appreciated. All in all, the Tri-Hi-Y girls did a great deal to further their worthwhile purpose this year. e Had 66 99 Clubs For Girls ..... fIf'irsl row! After this exciting eposode, Albert lelt to again try to clude the police for a bank robbery which he had committed, and Xliss Creed left to go to inform the police of what she had done. Nliss Creed's willing- ness to confess was partly motivated by the timely remarks oi Sister Theresa, a jolly old nun from the Priory down the road. First row: C. Tate. R. Hangqitt, l'. .lznm-s, Bl. HLY 'I'he purpose of this club is Hto create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and community high stand- ards of Christian character. The Ili-Y boys this year have completed several worthxvhile projects. At Christmas time they collected all kinds of toys and tree decorations, which they sent to the Delaware Colony for the children. During the winter sev- eral representatives from the Hi-Y attended the Regional Con'erence at the University of Klaryland. The boys spent the weekend at the University before returning home. Sev- eral months after the Conference a few Hi-Y boys and a few Tri-Hi-Y girls presented a panel discussion on boy-girl relationships. This proved to be a very interesting assem- bly. To raise money the Hi-Y boys did several things. During basketball season they sponsored a Sock Hop after one of the home games. On another Saturday they held a bake. The bake was profitable, and part of their money the boys contributed to WVorld Service through the Y.NI.C.A. organization. All the projects of the Hi-Y this year have been helpful and worthwhile.
