mrs. francis smith mrs. francis smith stepped into the role of s.g.a. sponsor for the first time this year. when interviewed, she ex- pressed the following opinion. my work as sponsor of the s.g.a. has been greatly simplified because of the capable leaders and fine cooperation within the organization. i feel this group always has been a representa- tive of the entire student body and we have every reason to believe that it will continue to be. student government association a band or orchestra needs a capable conductor to lead and direct it. our student body likewise needs a strong leader to guide it over the rough spots and to offer help in all problems, big and little, which arise in an active school such as ours. the seabreeze student government association, under the fine direction of mrs. francis smith, maintains this high quality of leadership. the s.g.a. has maintained a tone of great beauty in our school and has kept the complex technique running as clockwork. each semester a president, vice president, and secretary-treasurer are chosen. a boy and girl from each grade act as representatives in this governing body. in the court, a iudge, elected by the students, and his appointed personnel handle student trials. student police are selected by the senate to keep order throughout the school. the welcome and guidance association acquaints new students with the school system. our s.g.a. is truly a working example of a strong and democratic leadership.
