in memoriam miss leota cordati-coburn lived music, loved music, and instilled this love in those around her. a 1916 graduate of seabreeze high school, she was dean of music in our hearts as well as on the faculty. under miss coburn's direc- tion, the glee clubs were at the top in every contest and every performance. a perfectionist-from the senior proces- sional to the annual christmas program- teacher, fher favorite namej will long be remembered for her love of hibiscuses, her gay rendition of up on the housetop , and the fond stories of her days as an opera star. as a conductor leads an orchestra with a baton in his hand, so miss coburn led her life with a song in my heart.

f 'W if dedication iust as the finest orchestra could not play a concert without the direction of their maestro, so seabreeze needs mr. fred dean. the head of our instrumental music department, mr. dean immediately found a lasting place in the hearts of both the faculty and the student body. all those who come in con- tact with him are awed by his constant good humor, wonderful plans for the future of our marching hundred , and great qual- ities of understanding and patience. mr. dean, throughout this year has directed the most marvelous football shows ever seen in this vicinity and compiled a superior record of achieve- ment in the music department. we, on behalf of the student body, hereby dedicate this annual to mr. fred h. dean.
