BEST IJIHEIITUH HUIHHDS The Senior Class and Annual Staff of I953-54 dedicate this, the 40th production of the SANDCRAB, to Mrs. Cuthill McConnell, Miss Lillian Trawick, and Mr. Harold W. Yates, our Senior Class Sponsors, as winners of the Best Director Awards . These teachers have directed us faithfully and diligently and at the same time they have been real friends to each of us. Mrs. McConnell with her senior invitations, caps, gowns, and the million other jobs that seemed to fall upon her able shoulders ..... she has devoted thirty years to Seabreeze ..... holds an A. B. degree from Florida State University ..... an M. A. from Columbia University ..... she is a true Floridian ..... loves a good game of bridge . . . . . ever faithful to Seabreeze. . . . . she was the inspiring force behind much that was accomplished during the year. Miss Trawick with her weeks and weeks of preparation for the senior class plays . . . . . not to mention all of the other favors which she has always managed to work in somewhere ..... she is a graduate of Florida StateUniversity ..... has an M. A. degree .....previous to coming here almost four years ago, she taught in Bartow, Florida, wasActing Head Department of Speech at Appalachian State College in Boone, N. C. , and an Instructor at Florida State University, She is an avid reader ..... acts ..... writes plays ..... We are more than thankful to have such a versatile director at our aid. And Mr. Yates with his constant patience, understanding and priceless sense of humor ..... who has worked so hard with us to produce what we believe to be the best SANDCRAB ever published. He received his A. B. fromCarnegieInstitute' of Technol- ogy and his M. A. from the University of Pittsburgh ..... his home state is Pennsylvania . . . . . after six years at Seabreeze he discovers that annual staffs are his pet peeve. . . . . ceramics occupy his spare time ..... likes dancing ..... an indispensibleperson indeed! Yes, to these. .. . .our friends, teachers, and directors, we extend our deepest gratitude for all of the wonderful things they have done for us. 8
