SPRING With Spring came Surprise Day when we all headed for Shadow Moun- tain Club to spend a lazy day sunning, swimming, sliding, and talking with carefree abandon, forgetting all the work ahead of us as if it didn't exist. The Fiesta saw us having a gay evening of tacos, costumes, and Spanish dancing. As always, we awaited May Fete and the freshmen gave a com- mendable performance. Then too, there was the Turf Supper followed by Swim Club's Water Ballet which took us on a world cruise aboard the SS Scripps. The sophomores gave their Supper Dance and the juniors received their senior rings at the Ring Ceremony. The seniors tried to forget bacca- laureates and think instead of the Senior Ball and green commencement robes. Evryone lost some sleep over finals and some people lost a greater amount over Summer plans. With Spring too came leaves on the elms, making green arches over Elm Tree Lawn. Azaleas were everywhere and snap-dragons gave vibrant color to the Ming Garden. ,3
