1 TAP Milan THE CORINTHIAN LITERARY SOCIETY Mrmmzm smsm. 'llhe i'0l'lllill1il,ll Literary Society ls composed ot all girls who are inter- ested in the Scottville High School. The Society was organized at the begin- ning of the school term and the work has progressed very noticeably under the able supervision of Miss Jean Eggleston. The officers elected for this term were: President, Vlara Parkerg Vice president, liily Itesseguicg Secretary, Mildred Siegelg Treasurer, Alice Ander- t10ll. At each meeting a program was given after the regular business meeting and as each one took part at different times we are quite adept in the literary arts. lflxtemperaneous debates and three minute speeches added quite a novel- ty to the program. After all business and the program was finished we listened to the Junior-Senior Critics' reports and hope and believe that we have pro- fited by them. ln l ebruar the Corinthian liiterar ' Society combined with the Noose- Y 5 . vclters and entertained the lligh School to a Valentine party whieh everyone enjoyed immensely. The latter part ot' ldcbruary the Corinthian Literary was challenged to debate the subject, Resolved, That Wilson Should Have a Third Termf' with the lioosevelters. The debators chosen from our society were: Mildred Siegel, captain, Alice Anderson and Maude Kirke. Only a few days were had for preparation on account of the Hu vacation, but on Friday March 5th, the boys met their Vllaterloo after a strenuous debate and the t'orinthians were the recipients of a banquet from them. All the members are interested in our work and enjoy the meetings. Vl'e hope the Society continues to flourish in the future.
