7 TAP llvlnvuq Histor of Class of 1923 l 'I'l4lR the buzz and hum were quieted and the newness ot' be- ing in sehool onee again worn off, the freshman elass of nine- teen hundred nineteen and twenty settled down to actually hard study: for eaeh student realized that he was entering a new era along this line. What we termed as the largest diffieulty was the selec-ting from the different eourses, that is asking the question to ourselves VVhat shall l be, thereby knowing what studies we should take up that would be needed in our vocation of the future. tllaneing at our program again we see that elass offieers are essential things to have. So Dortha Dodge was ehosen to fill the president.'s ehair, Leo lial'oint for viee president, Frederick Dorseh for seeretary and student representative and Merlin llilpey as treasurer. Miss Eggleston is ealled elass advisor. Oh! what trials when it eame time to deeide upon a motto. At first Green but Growing was thought to be the only one but later this was ehanged to On the Road to Sueeess our present motto. The soeiai activities of the elass were few but extant. livery l reshman remembers the heaps o' fun they had at Eastman 's, Me- l arland's, Dodge's and the other parties. An unusually small number ot' students have left the elass this year. Under various teaehers' drill and instruetion every student 's brain power has become simply prodigious. The elass as a whole wish to extend their grateful appreciation to Mr. liouden for starting them eorreetly on the first years of their lligh School eourse in Seottville. Although we have been trying at times, our aims and ideals were of the highest type imaginable. So we herewith submit to you our short and simple, but in our minds always memorable, history We sineerely hope that your eensure will not be too strong until time has proven its justiee. Respectfully, FRED DORSCII.
