1 TAP Melvin Histor of Class of 1922 N September seeond 1918 a group of irresponsible freshmen tifty-six in number entered the high sehool for the purpose of expanding their mental eapaeities. Our hallueination of the wonder of being a freslnnan :toon passed off in the aggressiveness of that eommon enemy of all Freshmen, the Sophomores. We did our best at studying that time worn inheritanee of the freshies and our soeial work hung in the balanee while we wrestled with Latin verbs. Nevertheless the Sophomores tendered us a marslnnallow roast which we greatly enjoyed. Vile managed this year with honors despite dist ouraging slcir- mishes with the upper elassmen and on June sixth we left the halls of erudition rejoieing in the new appellation of Sophs. Sehool began in September 1919 as usual and we returned to find our original numbers somewhat deereared. About two or three months later three ot' our most popular members Lois lflastman, llc-rniee and tlraee Matzger left us. Some time after the wedding bells ehimed for the latter and our best wishes join her for future happiness and prosperity. Our motto and eolors ehosen this year are the same as last year, and we hope to keep them all through High Sehool. This year we have indulged more in soeial festivities. Several farewell parties being given and also the Freshmen extended a par- ty in our honor. We entertained the juniors at a party at the sehool house. Athletie sports are remembered only by those who have aneient memories and are things of the past, owing to the laek of suitable building. 'Phe shoals of semester examinations were passed with great difficulty due to the enormous amount of wind but neverthe- less we are proud to state that we are now safely launehed on the last lap of our Sophomore high sehool. MILDRED K. Sllifllill
