7 - Early in the term we ordered our rings and pins, the first Junior class in the Scottville High School that followed this custom. An enforced vacation of five weeks was given while the flu was rag- ing. When school started again, January 1, we held a class meeting and selected our play which was given the twenty-first of May. This was one of the greatest successes ever accomplished by our class. Over one hundred dollars was realized and people were turned away at the door. The proceeds were used to finance a banquet given in honor of the Seniors. At the closing of' the year we went on a picnic trip to Hamlin lake to spend the day. The weather was fine, the roads immense, the lake superb, and the picnic lunch a huge delight, one of the nicest features of the lunch being a can of' Boston Baked. As soon as school opened in our fourth and last year we had our election of' officers. Thelma Stephens was re-elected president, Joyce Kobe, secretary, George Long, vice president and Robert Coolman, treasurer. All of our class returned for the final year, but two later changed their minds and left to be married. We much regretted the loss of Beatrice and Myrna as they were favorites with the class and well liked by all of us. At the opening of the year we started our plans for our Annual and the members of the editorial board were elected. Next came the social events of' the year. At Fhristmas time a high school party was held at the city hall, this be- ing the first time the entire high school had been brought together for a social event. It was considered a huge success. Another event that will long be remembered was the Valentine party given by thc tlirls' and Boys' literary societies at the school building: another, long anticipated, was the Junior-Senior banquet. The publishing of our edition was a serios undertaking for us due to high prices and lack of' ways of' raising money. lint with the backing of the rest of the high school and the school board it was made possible. Looking back over our four years we do not believe that any other class has ever rraduated from our school who can recall as man ood times or y 3 having accomplished as much as we have. THELMA STEPHENS ROBERT UOOLMAN

9 TAP Mauna History of Class of i920 ND we, too, like all the other graduating elasses, started our l reshman year by wondering where the eolleetion of moss eovered antiques eame t'rom and wondering if they would look the same on graduation night. Our elass otfieers were duly elected, with Robert Uoolman for president and Joyee Kobe for secretary and treasurer. Joyee was also our representa- tive at the Junior-Senior banquet. Not being able to see the advantages of a high sehool edueation some of the members left, never to return, so missed the one great exciting event of the year-the sending of a bouquet to one of our siek members. Hut we must not overlook the one party we had at the river. And Allan Ogilvie fell in. At the beginning ot' our Sophomore year we numbered twenty-tive. Those who did not find their way baek were missed, but we soon beeame accustomed to seeing new friends in their plaees. The elass otfieers eleeted were: presi- dent, Robert Uoolmang secretary and treasurer, llazel Harterg Thelma Stephens was ehosen as representative at the annual banquet. Our matron was Miss Uoburn. Wishing to start the soeial festivities of the year with something new and distinetly novel we entertained the l reshmen with a marshmallow roast down at the ol' swimming hole. Being highly elated by our ingenuity and sue- eess aehieved we followed it up with several others as fast as the erowd eould be moved to and from the river. As a eompanion for Miss t'oburn, we invited Mr. Yoelker to attend these wild affairs. Some of our reekless members whose ideas of lligh Sehool life were not all studying were sent home one evening by a lenient sheriff while others wore oft' their surplus energy by sealing the water tanks. When the sehool bell ealled us baek for our Junior year the following members were absent, Gertrude Moore, Myrtle Sterley, Ulement Cole and Allan Ugilvie. llefore long we were well acquainted with our new members whieh ineluded ttlen Souders, Veva Dunbar, lioyal liagley, Russel lloefsted- ter, John Dellotf, Aliee Anderson and Myrna Shaw. We held our annual eleetion of offieers and when the raeket was over we found that Thelma Stephens had been eleeted president, George liong, viee president: and liily Resseguie was secretary and treasurer.
