, fm Iunior Class Officers Barry HEATH ................ President JEAN CAIN ............ Vice-President ARTHUR THACKEH .......... Secretary LORRAINE LAYNE .......... Treasurer DANIEL Cmmzs ................ Sponsor CLASS OF '50 With graduation as the shining star atop our high school ladder, we found ourselves on the second step down-still look- ing up. For the first time in our high school history our class elections were really important, so we gave them our all. This year we found, was to be to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy with real Southern accent. Mr. Cibbes, from South Carolina, was our new home room teacher. As upper classmen, we entered into the hectic life of third year history, plane geometry, and the usual conglomeration of activi- ties. And so the fall days passed quickly, and winter was upon us. Christmas, with all its glittering parties and laughter, slid by with the rapidity that only Christmas can. Soon the holiday became only a warm memory in our hearts, for fate always decrees that the fairyland of Christmas must tum back into the reality of school. Thus, after our New Year celebrating, we found ourselves face to face the routine of classes, and Scottsville High. Into this all the knowledge, for time with mid-term exams, which brought us back into started us on the last lap of our junior year at we crowded all the gaiety we could-as well as was growing short. As the first signs of spring broke through, it dawned upon us that we, our- selves, were almost seniors. But now final exams were here, and to some of us that next step looked a little shaky. Although, as we got our final report cards that warm May day, we realized that we had lost forever our much-beloved Mr. Cibbes and our junior title, we knew we had attained the highest step on the ladder, and that graduation was now almost within our grasp. -46+ 18 iin-
