CLASS PROPHECY While taking census during 1962, I was happy to meet some old pals of mine while working on my job. During my work in Cambridge, Mass., I explored the Harvard University; talking with the Dean, EARLINE B. Traveling on to N.Y. City, I noticed a familiar looking model. After taking a second glance, I recognized GERALDEAN M. Driving down a street in Pa., my companion pointed out a beautiful mansion and said it belonged to JOYCE L., now a successful Philadelphia lawyer in the Houston Law Firm, with KENNETH H. as President, who spent his vacation in the mountains squirrel hunting. Waiting for a red light in Md., I glanced to the car next to mine and saw MARGERY D. driving a ' 62 Pontiac. She told me she was now a registered nurse at Johns ' Hopkins Hospital. A.L. POWERS seemed well placed behind the President ' s desk as I talked to him in Washington, D.C. In Dayton, O., I chanced to meet LEON D. in an elevator. He was owner of a Tire Factory, but still hunting for a wife. Then in Frankfort, Ky., I met HARRY V.G., who now ruled over his wife and two kids. While censoring in Tenn., I saw BETTY K., our glamour girl of 1951, slaving over a stove in the kitchen at the Montgomery home. Stopping at a countr y church, I saw NADINE M., now Mrs. Wayne Rhodes, playing the organ. Bro. Rhodes was Pastor of Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church. In Sardis, a large city now, I saw our old school flirt of 1951, MARGIE C., now wife of the Mayor, Billy Ray Little. Leaving Tenn., I met BETTY B. in Memphis. She still lived around S.H., but hadn’t made up her mind between Reagan, Sardis and the Army. She said that RUBLELENE K., now Mrs. Ancil Singleton, was happily married and had eight kids. Going through Tulsa, Okla., I stopped at a restaurant. Looking at the menu, I read: EUGENE W., Manager-SPECIAL--TATER PIES. He and his wife ran a thriving business. For a little fun, I stopped at TWO BILLYS ' CIRCUS. Entering, I saw BILLY M. and BILLY R. in one of their famous acts. At Amarillo, Tex., I spied BETTY W., now Mrs. Maxell Thominson. They were part¬ ners with BOBBY B. and wife Joan, in seven dude ranches. In Phoenix, Ariz,, I saw JUNE A. behind a desk working for a millionaire, who had a soft lap (she said). Visiting a school in Carson City, Nev., I talked to TRAVIS B., a History teacher and wealthy bachelor. He informed me that DWIGHT K. was the world ' s most famous basketball coach. He and his wife, a retired coach ' s daughter, were raising their own team in Reno. Talking with a G.M.G. director, I swooned at the name of CAREY J., who was now living in Beverly Hills, Calif. He was better than Clark Gable. His most recent hit was: Return with the Wind . Thus ending the census taking of 1962, but wishing my friends to live happily. always. It was a new exciting experience for everyone, but we were quick to learn the ways of high school. Some of our classmates have left us, others have come in. We have a total enrollment of thirty-six this year. We are proud of Carolyn Rhodes, who won the honor of being Miss Scotts Hill. Our class is well represented in basketball too. We have several boys and girls playing. They are really good players. Everyone is looking forward to the following years in high school and hoping to have the highest honor at the end of the Senior year. The class was divided into two groups with about an equal number of each. Some moved to other places, one married, and some have entered since then. In the earlier part of the year, we were initiated and everyone had fun. Several of the girls entered the beauty contest at the Hill Theater. Two girls from our class made the High School basketball team, and we had one cheerleader. We are looking forward to being Sophomores. JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY The Junior Class of 1951-52 entered High School in 1949 with forty-three enrolled. Since that time our number has decreased to eighteen. Some of our girls left school to be married and several other students are now attending other schools. With the starting of school we have a new name, because of our skill acquiring the customs of the school we were re-named Juniors. We are looking forward to being Dignified Seniors . We will always treasure in our hearts the memories of the happy school days we had at old Scotts Hill High. SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We, the Senior Class, entered High School in 1948, with forty-two enrolled. We were the best class that ever entered S. H. H.S.--says Mr. Milam???? We took initia¬ tion in our. stride and soon were competing with our upperclassmen in all school activit¬ ies. During our Sophomore year, quite a few of our classmates were bitten by the love- bug and left school to be married. Others decided they just couldn ' t take it; leaving us with 11 girls and 11 boys. Several of our classmates p ' lay basketball and it did not sur¬ prise us by their becoming all-stars. We joined FFA, FFH, and 4-H Clubs. We have served on the Annual Staff for two years. Of course, we will be glad when we get our diplomas, but it is going to be sad to leave SCOTTS HILL HIGH SCHOOL. We don’t think any class could ever have enjoyed four years so much!! We had good basketball teams this year and even better sportsmanship. We learned that defeat is never bitter unless you swallow it, so we always smiled whether we won or lost. Our girls main team consisted of Betty Jo Wallace, Betty Joyce Bartholomew, Jeanet Milan, Margie Camper, Evelyn Bingham and Joan Smith. The sub-team was Josephine Holmes, Nell Ervin, Kathelene Rushing, Wanda Woody, Drussilla Dixon and Dorthy Powers. Boys main team was: Dwight Kelley, Kenneth Houston, Jerry Arnold, Billy Rogers and Bobby Brown. Subs were Eugene Williams, Carey Johnson,� Harry V. Grisson, Bobby Joe White, Billy Rimmer and Leon Dyer.
