We underwent Initiation with a cburageous smile and credited It as being another crazy notion thought up by oufc upper classmen. As the year went by we became bolder. We entered a girl for a beauty contest and lo and behold she wonJWe are proving ourselves to be an outstend -ing class with an eye toward The Road to Success ,leaving behind The Green Years. Sophomore Class-- We, the Sophomores, entered high school in 1946 with thirty-four members before midterm. We lost three who decided they coulden ' t take it - algebra. Our principal said we were the best class he had taught In a long time (since the year before). Our science teacher commended us on being such a quiet, nice class until one day there was a terrific explosion in the lab. Chemicals? Oh, no, fire¬ crackers) Junior; Class-- We, the Juniors, breezed Into high school in 1945. The best class in school, 6f course,by far.We have done everything from winning high honors to putting cats in Miss Powers ' desk. This has been a swell year but we are looking forward to next year when we ban be Top man on the totem pole. Senior Class— We, the Seniors, made our bow to high school in 1944.Of course, we first see ourselves as green freshmen, then as silly soph¬ omores, jolly Juniors, and at last, dignified SENIORS (well, seniors, any¬ way). We ' ve had fun) Remember April 1,1947,when we played hookey from school to enjoy a day ' s vacation at the ! ' cave ,and the time we almost got expelled for shooting firecrackers in the study-hall?Yes, it has been wonderful, but at last twenty-two of us Seniors see the final cur -tain fall and here we are storing into our hearts Treasured Echoes from the corridors of time arid pledging ourselves to make the saying Life can be beautiful come true. Yea,black, yea gold - come on Scotts Hill, let ' s go)The girl ' s basket¬ ball team is a whiz this year.We played fifteen games and were defeat¬ ed only once, by Adamsvilie. We made up for that by boating them eight points on their return game which was played here. Mr.Cecil Milam is a swell coach and we owe much of our success to hid untiring efforts to make the most of an untrained group of girls. Next year should find our girls Still winning victories right and left as only two guards gr -aduate.Trophies to you, galsI Our boy ' s basketball team was less fort unate tlsan the girls. They won some games and we were all the more proud of them for showing suuh marked improvement.Three of the players are graduatimg this year-Dwaftn Kelly.Raymond Brasher and Max Ray Stanfill. Here ' s Wishing next year ' s team a lot of luck and baskets 1 L UtefdSOTl . jr _ r- i _— | s . • ■WE WISH TO TAKE THIS OPPOKTUNITY TO THANK EVERYONE WHO COOPERATED IN ANY WAY TO HAKE THIS ANNUAL A SUCCESS.
