-nineteen lo Uu 4 mo- S.H.H.S. BASKETBALL CLUBS At the beginning of the basketball season our prospect for a victorious bail club, both gir- boys, was very dim after having lost the majority of the girls who were on the first te- : last year. The girls who played on the team this year had before had but little experience zLe court. The girls club made unbelievable advancements. They won an average of 50 p- 1 cent of the games played. They lost the District Tournament playing against Lexington. The boys club lost two of its first team players. It also had on record an average of 50 p- cent of the games played. The boys lost the District Tournament playing against Parsons, won the final game. Both team’s success has been largely due to the drilling and information given to them by qualified and well experienced coach, Mr. Milam. The school and teams are looking forward to the following year and expecting to have a h- r percentage of games won, on record, than they had this year. FRESHMAN CL.ASS INITIATION The most important event of the freshman was their initiation. The boys and girls were iatea separately. The boys initiation lasted for a period cf two days. The first day they re run through a belt-line; the second day the terrified boys appeared in strange costumes. The girls initiation lasted only one day. They were dressed in comical costumes. The g- BS gave a program in chapel to the delight of the school. At lunch ' the girls were served punch and cookies by the junior class.
