Toplcs In Brlef Vacatlon vsas over too soon and we forced ourselves to start to work on August 31 Wheels began to roll toward Semor Tr1p on September 8 Magazlne Sales started that day and ended ten davs later We made a proflt of S269 On September 18 wlnmng Purple Team gorged on ICG cream furnlshed by the vanqulshed Indlvldual wlnners were Carol Samford Betty Bonwell Donna Ingram Alma Dlxon Martha Southard and Joan Sayre On September 29 excltement prevalled Walter Stout dlscovered a flre that burned a storage bu1ld1ng and threatened new gym Our Hlgh Man on the Votem Poll Conn Wheeler recelved a few burns wh1le flghtlng the f1re After the flre dled down we held a meetmg to select our class rmgs On September 21 play practlce got under way w1th a bang Everyone start ed learmng llnes mcludlng a few not ln the book Hensley learned hls too quickly Stout a llttle slow Martha Southard had plpe troubles Durmg one performance she smoked be fore she l1t the plpe A nall on the west stage door caused much embar rassment Several sklrts were badly rlpped all Conn s fault Conn learned to change clothes fast Ingram as Blldad grew whlskers fast too We presented The Campbells Are Comlng October 29 and 30 Put on good play we thought and gate re C81ptS were above average Even Mrs McCool was pleased We cele brated our spectacular success at Shady Rest wlth Mrs McCool and Mr Tacker as guests October 9 Happy Blrthday Walter VS e nearly froze on Hensley s hay r1de but we had a swell tlme even lf we sat on cobs lnstead of hav We went on a 'corn hunt on Wednesday No xember 4 We made S61 85 Betty s father furnlshed a fleld of Whlte corn BY THE J UNIORS Hensley furnlshed a tractor and wagon We worked hard and we were sore too In the afternoon we lost a llttle energv but we d1dn t mlss a gram Strow Bradford and a few others strolled to a nearby fleld Somehow our load of white corn began to have a few ears of yellow corn At 2 30 we called It a day The bovs sold the corn at Chrlsman They reported that they had a very lnterestmg trlp On December 2 we enjoyed spa ghettx at Ant0HlHl s and also Botany Bay Wh1Ch we vlewed from the bal cony On December 8 the packages from Josten s arrlved We thought the Semors seemed a llttle blt envlous of our beautlful rlngs Bob Bradford and Wesley Lewls have left us That makes us a class of 13 It can t be unlucky Santa Claus brought several boys turtle neck sweaters They look neat One noon the J unlor boys l1ft ed Donna Ingram to the ce1l1ng Tonv Avenattl took qulte a tumble for Betty Bonwell and Sherry Tacker at the Ch111 Supper January 15 The boys sat on the table and ended on the floor Xl e saw a movle Bunny Rabblt that nlght ln verv cozy surroundlngs We made S25 on the Ch111 Supper On January 30 we held a Food Sale ln PHFIS at the Edgar County State Bank For two weeks the boys studxed Homemakmg and the glrls went to Ag Class The farmerettes learned about cattle and swlne They trled weldlng successfully The boys lcqulred culmary technlque They seemed to enjov everythmg except washlng dlshes pots and pans Hensley Straw and Strow enjoyed thelr own cookmg The prom new clothes dates and who said we stax ed out all night?
