leaked fion Mr. Byers, the senior class 'proudly dedicates the 1952 volume of the Scottie to you. Serving our schools for many years, first as teacher, then as principal, you have endeared yourself to the hearts of students. Your genial personality and good nature made a trip to the office a pleasure instead of a dreaded experience. There we came frequently with our problems. The friendly atmosphere, your pleasant smile, and your patience always helped. You had a way of finding a solution to every difiiculty. You have been lenient or stern as the situation demanded, in our eyes just fight. Mr. Byers, we know how gratified you are when the graduates of S.H.S. make good. We only hope that we, too, will make you proud of us in years to come. You who have seen so many classes come and go will be taking your final departure from our high school at the close of this school year. You as well as we, the Class of 1952, will be saying goodbye to Scottdale High School. We are happy that we have had the chance to finish our high school course with you as principal. As you retire, may you find pleasure and con- tentment in whatever is in store for you beyond the next turn of the road. When we come back to visit our Alma Mater, we shall always be re- minded of your genial presence as we glance toward the office at the end of the hall. There will be a lonely space in front of the high school where the familiar black Buick stood. Goodbye, Mr. Byers. We wish you health and happiness!
