PROLOGUE As the day approaches when we, the Class of 1951, will graduate, we realize for the first time that the period spent in dear old Scottdale High School has been very happy and far too brief. Many memories of our junior and senior high school days keep forcing their way into our thoughts. Never to be forgotten will be those English classes of Mr. Snader where we discussed everything from nuts and bolts to the atomic theory. We'll always remember the thrill of those gridiron battles, the charged atmosphere in the Armory during the last seconds of a hard-fought basketball game, wearing our class rings for the first time, slipping into our assembly seats five minutes late, the tense moments before the curtain rose for the opening scene of the class play, and -well, we could go on forever! To every member of our class, these experiences mean high school. They remind us of friendships we made, fun we had, dreams we shared. To help us remember our last year in Scottdale High School even more clearly than the others, we decided to keep a diary. As you read our diary and look at the pictures in our album, you are reviewing with us the high lights of our senior year. This book is not intended for posterity, it is simply our way of trying to preserve the memories of the most wonderful time of our lives. This then is our diary.

ADMINISTRATION MR. BYERS A friendly smile or a jolly hello from our principal, Mr. E. M. Byers, was enough to start the day just right for all of us in spite of overwhelming assignments or any of the other problems which we had during our senf ior high school days. Whether we wanted our schedules changed or sought advice about an extracurricular activity, he was always ready to help. In his office we found a cheerful atmosphere that contributed much ltoxfhe hap- piness of our high school days. V K X , I DR. PUFF We are proud to have as the superinten- dent of our schools, Dr. Clinton M. Puff. His most sincere wish is that some time in the near future Scottdale High School may have adequate facilities to carry out the program required in an accredited high school. It was at his suggestion that the School Board au- thorized the evaluation of our high school last November. Not only has he worked tirelessly to improve the Scottdale schools, but he has won recognition both for himself and our school by acquiring his Doctor of Philosophy Degree. MRS.
