AVGILVAUI Student Council The purpose of the Student Council is to develop activities and studen government and to foster a spirit of co operation between teachers and students in order to promote the general welfare of the student body of Scott Senior High School Every homeroom has one representative who conscientiously attempts to realize the desires of his fellow classmen In pursuance of its oble tive the Student Council under the guidance of Miss Gladys Worth has accomplished the following Directed a successful Christmas project at which time Fafi a war orphan in Italy was adopted Each month money was sent for his weltare also packages and letters were sent to show our personal interest as foster parents Organized the Red Cross Drive which netted S54 70 and the March of Dimes which netted S49 92 Accepted the responsibility for providing assembly leaders and persons to read the Bible Recorded the scholastic honor roll and presented charms to those who attained superior rating during the entire three years Conducted an efficient traffi schedule throughout the school Sponsored a Leap Year Dance February 21 in the gymnasium . Sold candy in the main corridor at noon and after school, also at the basketball games. 8. Sold Christmas cards, red and black mechanical pencils, and post cards with a picture of the school to raise money for Council. Officers were: President, Bill Caullerg Vice President, Bill Clinton: Record- ing Secretary, Daisy Lou Maxwellg Corresponding Secretary, Ioyce Curry, Treasurer, Virginia Byerly.
