This year for the fisrt time since the inception of this association as a s hool organizatlon the lury members were football squad partlclpants This group accomplished a very commendable enforcement of laws under the student leadership of Iudge Iarnes Campbell Tnbunal makes and enforce traffic rules and regulations inside the building The traffic squad IS organized primarily to keep the halls free from congestion by prohibiting students from going to their lo kers between classes Tribunal also attempts to provide safety conditions outslde the building thus protectmg the students of Scott High as well as the smaller children who attend the Columbia School Another duty assumed is the promotion of cleanliness and care of school property by locker and homeroom mspection V1olators are formally tried and decrees of pumshment are inflicted upon the criminals Power is invested in this group to the extent that they may carry punishment as far as expulsion from school Thus in these many ways lhlS group contributes to the smooth and efficient progress of Scott Hlgh School X Alhvilivil 5 f 9 umm Hsu '-:: 'mE JI ,..... 4lW4s 4 llb A 4lb A 4 nigvknm Bur viliviu VICTORY CORP The Victory Corps is a national voluntary organization for high schools designed to mobilize high school students for more eitecuve preparation for and participation in securing a permanent peace Throughout the year the Victory Corps sponsored the paper salvage drive which netted a total of approximately 35 000 lbs Money obtained from the sale of this paper purchased a permanent service honor roll for our alumni who gallantly served in World War II Another proyect was the sale of war stamps and bonds which amounted to S15 82105 An overseas field ambulance was purchased which bears a plaque signifying that it was contributed by the students of Scott High A Triple Ieep campaign was also successful Members assisted the Y MC A Staff in preparing the Red Triangle for circulation to Chester County men in the armed forces others worked at the draft and rationing boards as secretarial assistants and file clerks Committees conducted a community-wide, house to house, clothing collec- tion which netted many thousands of articles for the poorly clad persons of the devastated countries. Victory Corps conducted an inspirational assembly in February to com- memorate the birthdays of Washington and Lincoln and to honor the War Heroes of World War II. Officers were: President, Clair Piersolg Vice President, Marie Polto: Secretary, Diane Martin: Treasurer, Dorothy Bernard. As they marched down the aisles in the auditorium prior to pep rally assemblies, one could feel the very influence of this organization upon the entire student body.
