SENIOR FAREWELL It was on that warm morning of September, 1959, that the class of 1962 assembled at the doors of our never-to-be forgotten school, Scott High. Shyly we went to our assigned homerooms and were greeted by our teachers. While we were getting into the routine of high school, we had many activities to look forward to in the remaining months. As the term ended we each went our own way to enjoy the summer months, filled with anticipation for our junior year. The first part of the year breezed by with work and play going hand in hand, giving us a well-rounded school life. All our activities kept us busy and when the prom was over and final exams a reality, we realized that our junior year was now nothing more than a memory. On August 28, 1961 we entered our old stamping grounds once more, but this time as gallant seniors. In our three years at Scott we have had fun, a few tears, but most important of all, we have received an education that has molded our character and personality. We are deeply indebted to our excellent administration and a truly great group of teachers, for having the patience and understanding to help us through the many trials which confronted us. Before us we have a variety of jobs, careers, and vocations in the complex adult world. We are grateful for the training we have received in preparation for this journey. As the years swiftly pass, we will realize that we will never be able to come back to our real starting point — Scott High School. This book will serve as a memory of our trip through the halls of Scott. By looking back through it, we will try to recapture, if only for a moment, the feelings of freedom and achievement which we felt in those hallowed halls of our “Alma Mater”. Our three years at Scott were truly years of happiness. As we pass through these halls for the last time as students, we wish our underclassmen all possible future happiness. We hope that throughout this book we will show you both the work and the recreation that we have experienced here. We the Graduating Class of 1962, want to say Farewell to all those who have helped u5 reach one of our main goals in life.
