'VUKCCA 59:3111- The Executive Officer hails from Lakewood, Ohio and is a 1980 graduate of The Naval Academy. He came to the Scott by way of a Division Officer tour in USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER QCVN-695, and two Department Head tours as a Combat Systems Officer, one in USS CLIFTON SPRAGUE QFFG-165 and one in USS VIRGINIA QCGN-385. These were followed by his first shore duty, as an Instructor in AAW and Toma- hawk at Tactragrulant. This tour was interupted by a three month stint as Communications Officer for Comander, Cruiser Destroy Group Eight during Desert Shield. After completing his tour at Tactragrulant he reported to the staff of The Chief of Naval Operations QOP-745 for duties determining warfare requirements for Tomahawk and associ- ated systems. With the reorganization of the OPNAV Staff he was transfered to Cinclantflt, performing the same func- tions. He then entered the PXO Pipeline and reported to the SCOTT in early Sep- tember 1993. LCDR Brinkman is an active athlete. He is married to the former Mary Quig- ley of West Roxbury, MA. He graduated in 1979 with a B.S. in Mathematics and was assigned to Little Creek, VA in the USS FAIRFAX COUNTY QLST 11931, While assigned he attended the Surface Warfare Division Officer's Course in Newport RI. He then served as Auxilia- ries Officer and Navigator. He was then assigned to Fleet Combat Direction Sys- tems Support Activity, Dam Neck, VA H where he was a Systems Test and Deliv- ery Officer. After attending the Depart- 3 4fiL'7J3333J3.?33J333333333J33J333333333333-533333333 33 333.93359 'sig' ment Head Course in Newport, RI, he was assigned to Mayport, FL as Engi- neer in USS UNDERWOOD QFFG 361 and Key West, FL as Executive Officer in USS GEMINI QPHM 65. Assignment to Washington, DC followed as Surface Ship Placement Officer in BUPERS and then Aide to the Assistant Chief of Naval Operations QSurface Warfareb. Upon completion of the Perspective Executive Officer Course in Newport, RI he was assigned to Norfolk, VA as Executive Of- ficer in USS SCOTT QDDG 9955. P Q- . I 11-'-'fr ,. an j, -. '325f f . ' Master Chief Bradford C. Evans is a native of Elkins, West Virginia, where he attended school through the high school level. Following gradu- ation from Elkins High School, he joined the Navy on 3 September 1968. During his military career, he has served in a wide variety of duty assignments. His first duty station following recruit training at RTC Great Lakes, was Patrol Squadron FIFTY-SIX at Patuxent River, Maryland. It was during this tour, he attended PN A school at SSC Bain- bridge, Maryland and earned the PN designa- tion. In 1971 he received orders to Staff, Service Schools Command Treasure Island where he was assigned as Petty Officer in Charge of stu- dent transfers. Following this tour, he received his first overseas assignment in 1974 to NAS Bermuda. During this tour he received the honor of being selected to represent Bermuda as their Sailor of the Year. In October 1977 he reported to USS TRUCKEE QAO-1475 home- ported at NAVSTA Norfolk. Following the de- commissioning of TRUCKEE, he was ordered to Fleet Composite Squadron EIGHT at NAVSTA Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. With the estab- lishment of personnel support detachments, Master Chief Evans was reassigned to PSD Roosevelt Roads. It was during this tour he was awarded his Associate of Arts Degree from Los Angeles Metropolitan College and that he ap- plied for and was selected to attend the Navy Drug and Alcohol Counseling School at NAS Mirimar, California. Following graduation, he reported to USS CORAL SEA QCV-435 as Direc- tor, Counseling and Assistance Center CCAACD. Following this tour in March 1986, he received orders to Staff, Headquarters Western Sector, United States Military Entrance Processing Command at Presidio Army Base San Francisco. While stationed in San Francisco, he pursued his Bachelor of Fine Arts QMajor: Interior Designj at John F. Kennedy University where he fin- ished all but eight classes. His studies were cut short due to a reassignment to USS HAROLD E. HOLT QFF-10745 Homeported Pearl Harbor as Command Master Chief. This assignment brought him to Operation Desert Storm, where the HOLT worked the mine fields off Kuwait. The HOLT was decommissioned on 2 July 1992. With the decommissioning of HOLT, Master Chief Evans received orders to his current com- mand USS SCOTT CDDG-9955 reporting 31 July 1992 where he now serves on his second tour as a Command Master Chief. His decorations and awards include the Joint Service Commendation, Navy Commendation, Joint Service Achievement, Navy Achievement, Good Conduct fSilver Star! and various unit and campaign awards. He is married to the former Lois Carlene Cantrell of Bristol, Virginia. Lois serves as Om- budsman to USS SCOTT. P CM EVA
