ikigk ,gf ik is Wg? Q WMM IA V, THE SHIP'S CREST USS SCOTT Lv crest symbolizes the history and tradition of this capable warship. The' upper area of the shield, called the chief, commemorates Rear Admiral Norman Scott, the shipis namesake. For his dauntless initiative, inspiring leadership and judicious foresight in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, the Medal of Honor was awarded posthumously to Admiral Scott. It is 'represented on the crest as a light blue area with tive silver stars suggestive of the Medal of Honor. The background color of the lower of the shield is red, the color traditionally associated with action and danger.
