Robert, who had an older brother named Scoop, soon acquired his brother's nickname and followed in his footsteps to become a non-commissioned officer. Robert, like Scoop, has spent many years at Scot- land and has acquired many friends. Sports became one of Robert's main interests. He played basketball, football, became very active in track, and because of his fine exhibition there. be- came a member of the S Club. He chose printing as his trade and proved to be a very reliable pressman. Dubious about accepting the answers to many questions and irascible at times. he vertheless, secured a well rounded education. Despite his many tasks. he found ti 9 contribute to the boys' chorus and choir. X ANNA BLAINE CAVALCANT Choir, lg Hockey, Gig Cottage, 1 'gg Beauty Culture, lg First Aid, I: Red Cross, lg Jennie Martin Sunday School Class, 2: Company, -13 Dressniaking, 45 Home Economics, Zi. Being too young to enter first grade when she came to Scotland, Anna entered the kindergarten class. She was our little tom-boy and wore a boyish- bob until recently, when she adopted a fancy hair-do, which of course, was the result of her beauty culture training. However the name of Butch, an early acquisition, has remained with her. She took Beauty Culture as her life's work and plans to work in an elite Beauty Salon. She has done her duties well and is capable of doing efficient work. Butch was generally accepted here as one of our best dressmakers. At the cottage where she was an assistant house mother. she accomplished her work with dispatch and so won the acclaim of her associates, Butch also took part in sports and musical organizations. I L Marion Jones P1'9Sid9Hi Martha Donahue Vice-President 8: Program Chairman Evelyn Hubley Secretary-Treasurer Mr. Oliver . Advisor The Commercial Club, which was the result of the efforts of Mr. Oliver, is the most recently established organization on our campus. It is organized under its own constitution which governs the activities sponsored at its meetings. The primary pur- pose ofthe club is to add interest to the business curriculum and develop desirable at- titudes and habits which will be conducive in meeting the challenges of the business and social world. All students who are pursuing the commercial course and who are in good scho- lastic standing are eligible for membership. The club's regular meetings are held every first and third Thursday of the month and comprise of business and social activ- ities. All business meetings are conducted according to parliamentary procedure. In order to enrich the programs, professional and business men are invited to ad- dress the club. In this way the members have received a valuable knowledge and un- derstanding of the implications of their careers. In cooperation with the War Effort, however, many of its activlties-trips, plant and office inspections, financial enterprises, etc.-had to be curtailed. The overnight hike to Stillhouse Hollow on a cold and bleak December day will not be forgotten. S. 0 Total Scotland-318 Opponents-218 Getting off to a scrappy start, the Scotland Red Devilettes opened the season with a five game winning streak which seemed to indicate an undefeated season. How- ever, a fighty Lemaster six shattered our hopes by taking a highly contested and ex- citing game on the latter's floor. This loss did not discourage the Devilettes, however. for they were ready to face the remaining opponents with plenty of spirit. At the end of the season the Scotland Devilettes were running first in their league with only two losses to mar their otherwise unblemished record. This success, the best the Schlendwein dribblers had experienced in the last three years, was attributed to the fine cooperation of the team and the relentless and patient attention of Captain Schlindwein.
