Mr. Joseph A bare Mrs. Agnes Powers Joseph L. A bare retired this year after twenty years of service in the Scotia-Glenville School system. Mr. A bare joined the system in 1954 as a member of the custodial staff and became Head Custodian of the High School in 1972. After attending high school in Willsboro, New York he began an interesting and versatile career including the managership of a Grand Union in Plattsburgh, N.Y., a securities salesman, and as an employee of Alco in Schenectady When his un- cle, an undertaker, needed some extra help Joe was able to assist him as well. Equally as versatile as a musician, he plays trumpet, saxophone and the drums. He served as an advisor to the Radio Club at SGHS for many years. An avid radio ham operator he manages Station K2PEF from his home in Scotia. He has served on the steering committee and as Vice President of Council 66, AF of L, C.I.O. and as President of Local 766, A.F of L.— CIO. Mr. A bare and his wife recently celeabrated their 25th wedding anniversary with his two daughters and grandchildren. Mr. A bare and his wife plan to retire to Port Richey, Florida where they have built a lovely new home. The Best Wishes of the Faculty, Student Body and Staff go to Mr. A bare for a long and happy retirement. 10
