PHYSICAL EDUCATION For many students who enjoy sports but cannot qualify for varsity teams, the phys. ed. program of- fers supervised experience in basketball, soccer, wrestling, calisthenics, table tennis, bowling, and other activities. Emphasis is placed on health instruc- tion. Acquiring an understanding of the rules of popular American sports, of team cooperation, and of fair play are among the lifelong lessons learned in the physical education program. Boys' phys. ed. embraces many phases of activity planned to develop body strength and coordination.
