DEPARTMENT PROVIDES A WELL-' BALANCED PROGRAM If you were to walk through the back hall during any hour of the day this year, you would have heard an assortment of yells, cheers, laughter, and hundreds of feet charging around the gym. Although this roar may have given the impression of utter chaos, it was actually one of the most organized activities in the students' day. The Physical Education Department trained students in the skills and rules of a variety of sports. Girls participated in seasonal units of soccer, wres- tling, basketball, and track and field, as Well as calisthenics, gymnastics, and modern dance. Foot- ball, soccer, wrestling, basketball, and track and field were included in the boys' activities. There was also co-ed activity in volleyball and square dancing, which provided a well-rounded program throughout this year.
