It was the year nineteen hundred and eighty-three, things were confusing in house A and house B. As a class we were bold, no fears for us, the seniors seemed so old, so our frosh girls left us. It was a year of trends, led by Gus and Dave C, we all went to school dances to watch them break in Caf. B. On weekends Peggotty Beach attracted a crowd, but the Boys always came, ' cause we were too loud. Our administration began with Gowen and Keane, then passed three others, who couldn ' t handle the scene. We travelled as a class to Riverside Park, The Turkish Twirl was the ruffest, it made us all barf. Then came the warm weather, to Minot beach we went if someone jogged by, it probably was Kent. Then in with ' 84 and our Sophomore year, when we traveled to Worchester and then Boston to cheer, for our hockey team took it all, captured the cup, that was Coach McKeever ' s last year, he had some good luck. Take pride in yourself Dr. Mika told us It didn ' t catch on, so he too left us. However that didn ' t come as much of a shock, for we knew 10 administrators, 7 of which took off. Doug Flutie was in, as was the spit, and this was the year for the Sophomore Boat Trip! We danced on board and had quite a party, then we found a new vice principal, our friend Mr. Gilarde. But back to guidance then went he, no more cool morning announcements, Since he was no-more-no-less than an ex-V.P. Mr. Freccero arrived, and he ended up staying, he watched us outside, not it was hackey-sack that we were playing. We then became juniors, in the fall of ' 85, we were now a little older, and beginning to drive. Those who had cars drove to the Powder Puff game, what a party that was, too bad our team was so lame. Surfing was now a year round trend, and Angus Young was in once again. Between SADD-AIDS-MADD and giving blood, paranoia spread, along with Gloria ' s flood. We lost our smoking area, new rules were instated, Dr. Alson was here, and a new prison created. We had the worst attendance problem in the state, I don ' t know about you, it made me feel great. We did have it tough, between courses and tests, we took PSAT ' s, achievements and the rest. 2

But we took it in stride, we were pretty cool, we ' d go to all the parties — our togas did rule. And then finally came our Junior Prom; it lasted three hours, but it didn ' t seem long. Then down to Cape Cod, we all did flee; when we got there the weather was as fine as could be. It was a long year, it passed by so slow, but now we were Seniors, ready to go! The first term was a party, it went by too fast, but then came application time, what a pain in the — . The powder puff game, was quite an affair, Our girls won the game, and ripped out some hair. DECEMBER recommendations and applications, we had low grade situations this all turned out to be too much for our brains, so we waited till January, when all of our deadlines came. We migrated from Caf. B, up to the guidance office, where we filled out too many forms, and skipped a couple of classes. Leather jackets were in, we were very cool, Senioritis set in, and now we cared about school. So our grades descended, along with our attitudes and we travelled down South, to the warmer latitudes. We waited ' till March, for the famous Senior Dinner Dance, where we finally met girls with whom we rarely got the chance. With the imposing warm weather, we took off our leather, and headed towards Minot, or a beach with sand on it. Now we were off, in separate directions, we said our last good-byes and showed our affections, our good friends we ' ve made throughout these years, will have lives of their own in this world full of fears, Some of us will work, some of us will study, some of us will sit back and inherit lots of money, but as our lives progress, and we pursue our goals, we should keep in mind that the attainment of our goals is not that which makes us noble, but the manner in which we persevere along that journey, where we strive to materialize our dreams. In many cases our dreams will never become reality, but the magnificence of a dream is that when one falls short, all he has to do to recover is shut his eyes. W.H.
