SCHOOL iSTARTS - SEPTCMBER • cruisers irk bust f roojn brfck u aHs, j ' -fs, Listen my children and you shall hear of the graduating class in the Bicentennial year from the sixth of September in ' 72 to the fifteenth of May when our school days were through. We entered with feelings of apprehension and fear but by graduation day we had left our mark clear. As itty-bitty freshmen everything was so new from despised silent studies to extended campus too. Everyone had spirit, everyone had pep and the brand new drill team kept in step. No one shall ever forget Utility Road or Angle Came freshman dances were never the same. All the girls stood together hoping for a chance for that tall, handsome senior to ask them to dance. Students were thrilled that fifth period was cut short when bomb scares and fire alarms were a fad of a sort. The seniors became a symbol of what fun was in store hopefully each one of us would participate as a silly sophomore — Sophomore year was soon upon us, confidence had grown strong. Somehow we felt that the awkwardness had gone. Buried in memories of our first high school year being part of the school had at last become clear. We felt capable of proving what our class could do with our spraying Raid can and our bright banner too. With the mighty cry of We ' ll knock ' em dead! the float and our spirit came out way ahead. This too was the year when the band had found fame — we felt proud as they marched in the Patriots game. Our talent was widespread in athletic sports too — the girls captured the All Sports Trophy for the white the blue. With the approaching of springtime — a boat trip was planned for enjoyment and fun, a time when our class felt what it was to be one, with flashbacks of moments that still linger on for ones at the party beforehand and for those who were gone. And it seemed as sophomore year had ended, and no sooner it was time for each of us to become a jolly junior. When junior year came our spirit was strong — for our float we constructed a bird. Crazy evenings were spent where we worked hard and long and although the float only placed third, our peacock excelled, being charming and bright.
