Memories of Senior Year As we seniors look happily back upon oui past year of fun, We like to stop and reminisce on all that we have done. First of all, we chose our leaders, Jim and Beth to guide. David Buckley held our money; Carol wrote ' long-side. Pro Merito, our honor society. Was run by Dave, Beth, and Jed, Fifteen together, struggling onward, Marks -wise, Beverly led. Student Council had its place. Future Teachers, and camera crew, Key Club, Chimes staff, Scituation, Library, and service awards, too. Singing had an important place, Twelve seniors will agree; All of our Glee Club girls Did carol merrily. Three boys rumbling on bass With tones solemn or gay Also made lots of music. With Connie there to play. Now we have to change our mood, for thundering down the field Comes a group of sports enthusers; to others they won ' t yield. Back in the autumn, a thousand pounds Galloped in formations on school grounds. Lineman Charlie cleared the way; Then the rest could join the fray, Larry, Jimmy, Broke and Frank, Tall or stubby, chubby or lank; On they fought to the rhythm of the band Tootling bravely in a foreign land. Standing, shivering, they laboreth, Dave and Connie, Beverly and Beth. Whack! went the hockey stick on ground; That was one place where Joyce was found. Millie, Carol, and Carolyn, too, Helped make up a hardy crew. Jed was ahead, -he always will be Leading at track and cross country. Paul ' s close behind, so were Dave, Dick, and Rick; Bob and Spike were also quick. Basket shooters, led by Larry, Dave, Frank, and Bob, the ball did carry. In girls ' basketball, were captains Linda and Carol, Beverly, Millie, and two in managers ' apparel. Next we see the wrestlers, tangled on their mat. Two Daves, Ricky, Spike, and Ted, -all were out for that. Baseball and Softball were two more favorite games; Always to excel was one of our aims. Five of our boys, four of our girls. The banner of sportsmanship around them furls. All were helped by cheerleaders, ready on the spot, Judy, Carol, Pat, and Joan, -Barney as an after-thought. Many folks have helped us. Miss Vinal first of all. Mr. Merrill joined her To keep us from a fall. Mr. Biggar then took over- He did his job well. Mr. Gibbons, now we ' re seniors, Helps our fiery thoughts to quell. The Class of ' 57 now leaves its sheltered past With eyes upon the future; the final die is cast. 15
