Grade Eight John Ewing represented the eighth grade on the Student Council this year. This was the first year in this school that the eighth grade has been allowed to take Latin, and many stu- dents elected it. For the second year the Junior Highhad a newspaper, THE MARINER. Susan Smollett, an eighth grader, was one of the co-editors. Carol Claybourne and David Park- er were our representatives to the band, and Roger Calderwood, Richard Burt, and Suzanne Murphy were in both band and orchestra. For the first time the junior high boys had their own football and bas- ketball squads under the direction of Mr. Keenan, In the first marking term Susan Acker, Constance Dwyer, Janice Jack- son, Judith Macintosh, Maureen Sex- ton, ArleenSoucy, Barbara Sylvester, and Kathleen Walsh received honors. Many of us found the work harder this year, but in spite of this we are looking forward to the coming year. HRST ROW: E. McLaughlin, H. Bubin, P. McCoy. S. Kelley, L.Jakubens, L. McGill, D.
