Memories of Our Senior Year Let ' s look once more at the year just passed, Realizing, as we do, that it is our last. We agree that being seniors was simply the greatest; Here ' s a review of the year up to the latest. This year Big Bob was elected top man With Larry always ready to lend a hand. Mary Sue got the note-book, and Debbie the bank; For leading the class, we ' d like to say thanks. To our advisers, Mrs. Bauer and Mr. Benson, too, Much of our success is owed to you. You helped with our dances, our prom, and our play; We thank you for guiding us on our way. In football our boys were really on the ball, Though Larry ' s broken arm didn ' t help at all. Jimmy was captain of the high school team, And Dean was destined for the All-Star Team. But football wasn ' t the only reason For everyone ' s enjoying the ' 55 season. The field hockey team captured second place. And the track team was first in many a race. The cheerleaders had a right to complain. For during the season it did nothing but rain. Ellie led this rain-soaked crew, Starring Joan and Debbie and Phyllis, too. Our class made history in their Good Government selection; Mary Sue was the first girl to win the election. Anne was elected Good Citizen of the D. A. R., And Charlie, with the Bausch-Lomb Award, did star. For president, the Key Club chose Duke Rencurrel; With him presiding, all went well. Roger was president of Student Council this year With Vice President Dean always near. Oh! another thing important to mention-- As Godfrey, Roger drew a lot of attention. We used the Coronation as a spring dance theme. And on March the second crowned a king and a queen. Debbie had the lead in the senior class play. With Ellie and Joan prompt ing along the way. Joan and Leonard, Jim, Carrie, and Sue Displayed their talents, --to name just a few. Pro Merlto claimed those who reached scholastic fame. As officers, Charlie, Addison, and Mary Sue were named. The girls were co-champs in basketball. But sharing the honors didn ' t matter at all. There were lots of clubs, some old, some new. Future Teachers ' and Nurses ' Club are only two. Included here are glee club and band; The music they made was really grand. As graduation ends these happy days. And all of us go our separate ways, We ' ll all, each one, keep the memory clear Of Scituate High, our Alma Mater dear. 14
