KEY CLUB In September the Key Club elected the following officers: Donald Cohen, president; Charles Rencurrel, vice president; Richard Mitchell, secretary; and Roger Kirwood, treasurer. Mr. Earle Bassett was chosen as adviser. At the last meeting in May, 1954, the members chose the following candidates as new members: Ronald Kirwood, Paul Berg, Lawrence Mayo, David Buckley, Richard Cahoon, Robert Clark, and Larry Schiner. During this year the Key Club sponsored a record hop, co-sponsored with Pro Merito the Hayseed Hop, took motion pictures of the football games, and sold Scituate High School beanies and bookcovers. The members also helped with the refreshments at foot- ball games and sold tickets at basketball games. All of the activities and services of the Key Club are planned with the goal of furthering school spirit. STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council had a successful year under the direction of their new adviser. Miss Ella Vinal. They discussed and acted on several suggestions which were submitted by members of the school to their Student Council representatives. Four senior delegates and other council members as representatives attended the fall convention of the Southeastern Bodies of Student Councils at Stoughton. Four junior delegates and other represent- atives attended the spring convention at Hingham. Special projects of the Student Council this year were ushering at the Open House for parents, start- ing work on a school handbook, and sponsoring the annual Blue and White Week.
