Yes, we were quite proud of ourselves on that September day in 1947, but perhaps a little weak in the knees when we stopped to realize that soon we were to be initiated. However, when the day finally arrived we found it wasn't as bad as we had expected. In fact: we had to admit that we rather enjoyed ourselves. Initiation was the main event of our freshman year. Our Freshman officers were: Pres....... . ...Charles Watson V. For entertainment this year, we had class parties, skating parties, and hayrides. Our Sophomore officers were: Preseoooaoooouaoeoceooou:Charles Watson V. Here we are upperclassmen, and only this school year to finish before we will be the nupperestn upperclassmen. This year we welcomed a new member, Nancy Wertz, from Mount Pelier, Ohio. At the beginning of the year we received our class rings which we treasured very much. One of the high-lights of our Junior year was the presentation of the three act comedy play, nProfessor, How Could You?n on Nov. 16, 1949. We wish to express our thanks to Mrs. Geissman for her patience and effort in directing this play which we feel was a great success. Members of the cast were as follows: Keats Perry Vicky Randolf a young professor the bane of his life Donald Rhineberger Alice Gayman Grandma Perry an obliging soul Norma Fruth Grandpa Perry an innocent bystander Ray Stahl John Appleby a helpful friend James Fretz Priscilla Morley a sweet young thing Joan Kramer Tootsie Bean a plump spinster Marilyn Shawberry Butcher Boy Bean her big brother Donald Coffman Valerie Whitman a southern charmer Juanita Thompson We planned and arranged, then arranged and planned for the Jr. Sr. Prom. The final outcome of the planning was that we would hold it May 5, at the Moose Hall in Bellevue. There we danced from 8 until 11:30 to the music of the Rhythm Makers. Following the dancing we treated the seniors and their guests to a double feature midnight show at the State Theater in Bellevue. On May 14 and 16, we added charm and grace Q71 to the Baccalaur eate and Commencement programs. CLASS HISTORY fCONT.D Our Junior Officers were: Presslllonooclocooqacuriarilyrl V. CLASS PROPH CY How strange it is that one can foretell the future in tea leaves, but yet we know that it can be done. In a lovely tea room we sat talk- ing of the past and our high school days when, to our astonishment, we saw our old friends and school chums each pictured in a leaf. There we were at the wealthy mansion of Donald Rhineberger, well known undertaker, an elaborate party being given in honor of his love- able wife, Alice KGaymanJ Rhineberger. The music for this occasion was being furnished by the ever popular orchestra of Mardella Daniel. A large baseball diamond came into view. The pitcher on the mound was none other than Donald Coffman, who is pitching for the Boston Red Sox. He is very successful in his career. A vision of a hospital comes before us. There we see Nancy Yates as head nurse.Peer1ng into the maternity ward we see Marilyn Shawberry who is holding twins. This looks very natural, for she is married to Edwin Porter and has two sets of twins herseH'. Looking further down the hall, coming from the operating room we see Norma Fruth who is head surgeon. As we look deeper into the tea leaves we see a large, beautiful country home.It is the home of Kay Fries who is now happily married to Edgar Miller and they have three little red heads. In a famous art gallery is Ralph Gore as a great artist, painting a picture of a beautiful model, the lovely Nancy Wertz. Ina large shipping firm in New York,we see Ray Smoot as president and on his lap was his private secretary, Delores Richey. The next view we see is a beauty shop, with Shirley Bogner as the owner. She has made famous the 'stack up' hair style, which is now the rage of the country. Now we see a large new modern office of John D. Rockefeller, the third. Ruth Bogner is his private secretary and has all hopes of be- coming his wife. An airplane factory came into view.Worklng as the head mechanical engineer and very prosperous in his business was Ray Stahl. Looking deeper we see a large symphony hall, where a concert is be ing given.Looking over the orchestra we see Carol Shoup as one of the cello players. We see a large dairy farm w1thJhmes Fretz in charge. It seems, he now is half owner of the Pet Milk Company. Marilyn Miller is now happily married to Delbert Strecker, who is now owner of Stpegkers Resturant. The last view isof Dorothy Hensinger who is now a leading commer- cial artist in one of the large offices in New York. We see in the future that the class of 1951 will be more success- ful in the years to come. Yours Anonymous. At the end of the first half of this tournament game Hopewell was in the lead l5-14 and it looked as if they might make their vow good.
