SENIOR CLASS PROPHESY One rainy day in April 1989, who would we see squirreling around down the streets of Scio Metropoli- tan area, but that world famous member of the Chevy Street Racing Team, Gary Ebensteiner. With him, his pit crew and drinking buddies, Bill Fields and Ron Bacak. In close pursuit is the local fuzz, Bruce Hill, in his Pink-Pussycat '57 Chevy. He has lust finished writing out a ticket to the town's only Hell's Angel, Robert Koehn and his trusty sidekick, Dirty Marvin Gerard. Other local gossip is that Vaughn Sweet was recent- ly fired as street sweeper for failing to keep his mind in the gutter. Now his wife, Lonnie, is forced to moon- light as a go-go girl at Rocky's. She takes the place of Donna Wink who was arrested last week. At the corner of Main and Cherry Street, a tall dis- tinguished looking man climbed out of his AA Fuel Dragster Cmade from old Corvair partsJ This is Jack McDonald, a professor at C.O.C.C. He iust left the Schlitz Brewery, where Deanie McDonald and Sue Hamlin are heads of the Experimental Testing Dept. Here at the High School, most of the old faces have disappeared, but there are a few people we know. Vernadene Fitzgerald is now the head counselor since Mr. Seine retired in 1985. And taking Mr. Jones and Mr. Chromy's places are those two grubby-handed rascals, Syd Bates and Chris Vogel. Kathy Webster now the new librarian has taken down all quiet signs. She has been quoted as say- ing l feel more at home this way. And finally, after all these years, Cole Ponder has finally run out of in- formation and is consulting his Funk and Waggonal's. Cheryl Henry, business manager at Shelburn Tech., also girls' counselor, is working with Blanche Rousseau, who is a special case, currently involved with Tom Spier who is principal. Many of the class of 1969 have taken their places in the business world. Some of these are Joe Burger, an automotive engineer, and Roy Riihimaki at Schweppes. Also Miss Georgine Hartl inow without bracesb is specializing in Orthodontestry in Scio near the old IGA store. Sharon Thompson and Rachel Hayes, who now own the Beauty School have as a student Cindy Jackson, learning grooming aids for horses. Also Barb Johnson, operating the wrecking crew in Scio. is currently special- izing in ditches. Many of this class of '69 have also become out- standing in sports. There is Jack Hinderliter, finishing his 17th season for the Leipzig Nazi baseball team, and Bruce Peery who is trying out for the Olympics for the 19th year in a row, and Larry and Gary Reed, the World Champion tag team wrestlers. David Lutgen, in the Olympic's Cross Country meet came in a defeated 42nd today because of gum stuck to his sneakers, at the starting line. At the meet Larry Roofener lost his big toe by accidentally shooting the starting gun off while aimed at his foot. Also in the world of sports is that great Grand Prix driver, Ramona McMillen, iwho is now in the process of rebuilding her carl. Now taking a more domestic road we find Virginia Haile, the lady physicist, is becoming widely known as Mrs. George Washington Carver due to the 106th thing she has learned to make using asparagus. She says she was inspired by her able and trustworthy as- sistant, Joe Janota. Grandma Bacher's sugar cookies are a big seller this year selling at 3c a pound. She is now becoming loaded and plans to spend more time cooking for her family. For community services we have Cathy CAderD Scott and husband who are currently in the Mission Field at Scio's slum area concentrating on Sonia Burton's new found AA. They are now working with a difficult case being none other than Esther Zelenka. The new manager of Scio's Museum of Art is Lorena Clark. She will give guided tours from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m to 12:30 on Saturday. And of course there is Paulette Toews who is the head of Scio's YWCA working for the good of Scio. Bob Truitt currently moved into his new business, being District Attorney with Sharon Longfellow pres- ently employed as his secretary. Congresswoman Charlene Ray is Scio's Favorite in the Senate and is trying to pass a bill to elect John Childress to be head of baseball doctors specializing in broken ankles. Also in the news of politics. federal troops were mobilized by President of the United States, John Shep- herd, to quell a riot by the Black Student Union at Scio High School recently. Of course some of the seniors of 20 years ago, didn't turn out too good. There is Tom Dain, a known Communist, Diane Kreger and Lenny Kirkpatrick were picked up recently for holding hands in a public place. Also sleeping in the gutter is the town drunk, Fat Al- bert Sachet. He took to drinking his senior year of col- lege and graduated magna cum loaded. And of course there was Roger Bryant, who met his untimely end a few years ago. He was seized by a fit of hiccups and bit himself to death. We truly hope you've enioyed this little visit into the year 1989 to see the success of your life and what is to happen to this .... the class of 1969.
