Student Council The Scio High School Student Council is the organization through which the student body participates in the government of the school and helps further those activities which are of most value. Meetings are held monthly. Membership is composed of the six class presidents and a student representative elected by each class. Francis Simpson Student Advisor ............... Arthur Pfouts The chapter had several money-making activities. A donkey basketball game was played with a rival F. F. A. and Scio won 18-l 1. The F. F. A. planted 6,000 trees for Dr. Black at one cent per tree. Only one tree was reported dead. The Scio Chapter won the District l5 basketball championship in 1950, a banner was awarded by the district. The Future Farmers exhibit on hybrid corn at the county fair was awarded a Gold Medal rating. The Chapter Parlimentary Procedure Team won a Silver Medal at Madison. Team members we re Don Noah, Fred Guthrie Stuart Henderson. James Myers, Fred Pfouts and Earnest Mizer. In the F. F. A. Pest Contest the Chapter was fifth in the district of twelve schools. Other activities included initiation of nine Green Hands and six Future Farmers, a trip to Ohio State University, Farm and Home Week, a farm tour of the Fay Experirnent Farm, a hamburger fry at Tappan Lake Park, a trip to the State F. F. A. Convention at Columbus, and a trip to the Ohio Agriculture Experiment Station at Wooster. 72
