SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We entered Scienceville High School as Freshmen in September, 1937. Our class enrollment was about one hundred eighty-five. Our class advisors were Miss Catherine .Iones, Mr. Ehrman, and Mr. Heffmaster. The social event of the year was a Roller Skating Party at the Rayenwood Auditorium. The Sophomore year we enjoyed another Roller Skating Party, at the Frolic Club on Hopkins Road. 111 June we journeyed to Liberty Park in Girard for a picnic to conclude the festivities 0f the year. The Junior year activities were numerous. Two Roller Skating parties were given at the Rayenwoud Auditorium. We joined with Mr. Boydts room in selling boxes of Christmas Greeting Cards at which we were very successful. The Junior play, HThe Cuckods Nest was given on March 29, 1940. We also had a Sport Hop on May 17. Our Junior-Senior Prom took place on june 7 completing the activities for a very successful year. Our Senior year was notable for a variety of activities and pro- jects. The Silhouette was one of our largest undertakings. Our social events included: Sport hops, sports such as basketball, football and baseball. The Senior Dance, which we all enjoyed was held on May 16, at the Elms. Our Baccalaureate services were interesting, we had a variety of speakers and musical entertainments directed by D. West Richards. The Commencement Exercises took place on June 11, which ended our enjoyable high school life. Our Senior Play was held on May 23, directed by Miss Orville. The Crowning event of the year was the JunioriSenior From which was held June 6 at the Elms Ballroom. THE LAND OF THE FREE The land of the free is where I want to be, When the tires of war are burning next door.
