We promise, if fate so wills it, to make as many improvements on the past actions of the Seniors, whether good or bad, so that the history of the Senior class of 1930 may be as clean and un- blemished as that of the Senior class of l929. Betsy Hartwell. PF PF PK Ik FF if Recognition Does the person behind the scenes get due credit? No! If the play or operetta is a success the actors receive the entire credit. We forget that the ultimate production has been very largely due to the work of the directors. They not only graciously give their time to the coaching of the play, but they must worry about finding stage material, costumes, and the Working out of many other details. This Annual takes this opportunity to thank Miss Emma Jones, who has so cheerfully assumed the responsibility of direct- ing and managing the plays that have been given in the High School. Especially does the Junior Class express their appreciation for her untiring efforts in producing Cyclone Sally and Watch Your Step Wilton. Many thanks must also be given to Mr. Richards for the splendid Operettas and other Musical entertainment produced un- der his direction. The entire credit for the organization of the Orchestra and Band and their appearance at the majority of our school functions is deserved by Mr. Richards.

THE CAVALIER 17 Great was my relief and amazement on turning the page to find thereon the future of my old side-kick. Lil was reported engaged to a famous football star. Supervising the construction of a bridge over the Atlantic Ocean was Ralph Muter. Jesse Nesbitt was the inventor of a new type motor. He devoted most of his time to organizing Hi-Y Clubs among the In- dians. In a home for the broken-hearted Bill Noble was pining away. On the eve of their wedding, Virginia had deserted him. Mary Pallay was an industrious school teacher, as I expected. Margaret Pellin was the best stenographer in Paul Snyder's meat-packing office. Florence Playforth was happily married to Peanuts the barber. The next page revealed Mary Slipkasky as education di- rector at East Tech, Cleveland. Her husband had divorced her after she had hit him over the head with a dumb-bell. The minister at the Little Church Around the Corner was Frances Steele. She had just finished marrying Ruth Stevens to a mysterious stranger. Frank Thomas was a Commercial Geography teacher. He must have forgotten how he acted in '29 for he would not tolerate anyone who put their feet in the aisle. On the following page I learned that Captain Floyd B, Welk of the U, S. Army, had broken the world's altitude record. The book was closed. The man vanished. I came to with a start to find myself before the fireplace. ak if fa wk 4: wk Mr. Boyd: How much are those grapefruit? Clerk: Twelve cents each. Mr. Boyd: Two for a quarter? Clerk: Yes. Mr. Boyd: I'll take two.
