New Fashion Trends Abound Students Learn To Jazz Up Outfits with Acessories This year students embraced the latest national fashion trends, adding a few unique twists on the way. Some styles from last year were still prevalant, while others faded from the scene, letting new ones take their place. Many found that a short cut to fashion was a short hair- cut! In the new, versitile styles, it was hard to pass up the attractive option of short hair. Many wore their hair in spiky or tousled cuts for a unique look. Although many stuck to the basic jeans and oxford uni- form of past years, a great number of students strived to make their attire more outra- geous than ever. Jeans came to life with added zippers, patches or multiple pockets, and heavy-duty camoflague pants were seen wandering down many a hallway. Bright sweaters and shirts in neon hues and in interesting styles and patterns were also a fa- vorite. Accessories also added a per- sonal touch to many outfits. Dangly earrings and twister beads were fun ways to make the most of any outfit. Flats and low heeled boots added the final touches. Tammy Arnett, Kelly Smith, and Dana Bates show that fashion need not be trendy. As Mandy Berry shows, the new “potholder” sweaters were popular. ♦ 26 Student Life
