As our class otiicers, we elected Richard Schlick, presidentg Henry Shontz, vice-presidentg Phillip Trumbauer, secretaryg and Raymond Spatz, treasurer. Our advisers were Mr. Resetar and Mr. lfurich. ln December we held our first class dance, entitled Snowbound. Spring came, and with it our class rings which we still proudly wear. In the spring we presented our junior assembly entitled A Class Re- union 25 Years after Graduation, which was a smash hit. May blew in and with it three days of freedom from the seniors as we went all out to celebrate junior Day. Months of hard work and preparation went into the presentation of Paris by Starlight, at which we entertained our sister ship, the Senior Class. Class co-operation and elaborate decorations made the junior-Senior Prom a night to remember for all who attended. At class night exercises we presented the seniors a garland of roses. Also at this time, Robert McCahan, president of the Senior Class, presented the Key of Education to our president, Richard Schlick. Our first dance, entitled Paradise of the Deep, was held in january and was .1 huge success. The underwater theme provided an enchanting atmos- phere and certainly added .1 big feather in the hats of all the juniors. Our next dance was held in April CLASS OFFICERS and provided .1 lovely entrance for spring. For our assembly we presented a play, entitled School Daze, in which the juniors portrayed a senior chemistry class. A Southern theme was planned for the Prom which was held on May 16. We, the members of this class, extend our lwest regards to the seniors and our sincere wishes for .1 prosperous future. It met twice weekly during gym periods for four weeks. The effort showed rewarding results at our dance held Decem- ber 6, 1958. This was entitled Christmas Fantasy and was decorated in colors of light blue and white. We also introduced a Sophomore Day, which was celebrated on the 10th of each month. All class Vice President' Donna Wfad members proudly displayed our colors ot' pink and black. Much to our surprise and delight our class rings arrived early on Sophomore Day in Decem- ber, adding to the festivity. The decorations, including il cafe, Cafe de Paris, french lampposts and signs, .1 flower cart Lll'llStlCLllly filled with flowers, and .1 lighted castle, which at- tained a height of six feet, opposite the entrance to the gym, carried out our Parisian theme, Paris by Starlight. The band was placed on .1 beautifully decorated platform in the back of the gym so we could decor- ate the stage as an outdoor French cafe. The dreamy music of the Hi-l.ites set us all danc- ing from 8:50 pm. till 12:00 midnight. Junior Junior Min, a three-act comedy, was staged on the evenings of April 17 and 18, 1959, under the direction of Miss Cronin. The scene of our play was the living room of the Graves' home in Manhattarfs upper sixties, just off Central Park. junior Min is centered around Judy Graves, who is a tomboy type of girlg and Fuffy Adams, her bosom friend. The plot works around the early teen-life of Judy and Fuffy, and their constant striving to do good deeds. The play also reveals a romance instigated by Judy between Willis Reynolds and Ellen Curtis. Although J. B. Curtis, Ellen's father, did not approve of this romance at hrst, he later accepts Willis as a member of the family. The last scene takes place the night of Judy's first date, with Haskell Cummings. Judy enters dressed in formal attire, a true Junior Min. Schlick. A very picturesque setting was created tor the evening in the iluniliar holiday colors. Red and white streamers decorated the ceiling and red paper hearts created additional atmosphere. The King and Queen entered from the rear of the gymnasium and pro- ceeded toward the stage. Upon ascending the stairs, they seated themselves in their thrones of honor and were crowned King and Queen ot' Hearts. Gridiron The record of one win, seven losses, and one tie compiled by the 1958-59 football team was very deceiving, since half of the games were decided by not more than four points. The boys played hard and displayed excellent sportsmanship, but lack of depth on the bench again hurt the football squad. Our early win of the season came against pre- viously undefeated Upper Dublin. A safety and a touchdown by Ed Creter proved the winning margin.
