KATIIRYN NVISMIZR Secretory lo llw supervising principal Suppruising prinpipal 6 Mai lifwolzea fo 66,155 of 1955 Your class is heing graduated during a period of increasing world tensions. The prophets of doom are at work trying very hard to persuade us that the future is dark. Nlay I remind you that there have heen many times in the history of our country: such as the period oi the American Revolution, the Civil War, and Vvorid War li, when all hope seemed to have vanished and the future looked hieak for those oi faint heart. To you of the graduating class I say, Have Faith! Have iaith in yourself. Your future is what you make it. Whatever your choice oi occupation. do it to the hest of your ahiiity. America needs all kinds of workers to keep her strong and steady. Have iaith in your country. You are privi- ieged to iive in the greatest country, with the hest political and economic system, the world has ever known. Our country is only as strong as each individual citizen in it. You are the links in the chain of strength. Have faith in the future. The possihiiities iior our nation are unlimited. In the 180 years oi our existence as a nation. we have made more social, economic. technological, and poiiticai progress than our founding fathers dared dream. I suggest that our future is just as bright as our past. Ahove ali. have iaith in your Creator. A French statesman visting the United States to discover what made America strong visited the factories, farms, mines, forests. cities, and schools. His answer to why America was a great nation was. uNot until I visited the churches of America did I find the real reason for America's greatnessf, Faith in yourself. your country, your future, and your Creator will enahie you to draw upon an inner strength that will serve you weit in times of uncertainty and need. With the Senior Dance only eleven days away, .lane and Sally still have no dates'-1 George and .lim haven't said a word. But their worries are only beginning, lor Sally's house guest, Marcia, snares one man right alter the other with the old Ngo-gett'em tac- tics. That is, every one except Elroy, who is constantly practicing the shotput, hut who isn't as dumb as he seems. Then the home-front girls get reinforcements, for Cindy arrives--horn, how, bag, and sell. Cindy is a movie fan ready to solve any prob- lem on the hasis oi how Ginger Rogers landed Fred Astaire. By the time George and Marcia get haclc from the show, Cindy has Jane powdered dead white, stretched out artistically on the sofa, rigged out in her mother's loveliest negligee, and apparently close to deathl George is scared -till Marcia suggests that .lane has the mumpsl George heats itl But Cindy is not through fix- ing things. Her next venture collides with the alleged case of mumps. Then Elroy puts the shot into the prize peony hed, and what started as a mild worry about who dates whom lor the Senior Dance, becomes a war ol Dads and peonies, shot-puts, mumps and movies. Our sincere appreciation goes to Mr. Dallas Graber, the cast, and the people hehind the scenes who helped malce the play a hit. Special thanlcs go to the stage crew, prompters, and .lane . .
