The schools of today make an effort to instruct the pupils in studies ot civic, social, and scholastic endeavors, as is illustrated in the varied activities of our institution. To explain the interwoven interests ot the school and community, in the preparation oi young people to be intelligent, useful citizens, and to leave behind a Written record of our activities in the Schuylkill Haven High School, We have compiled the contents of this volume of the Blue and Gold.

ALIDA RAUDENBUSH With sincerest respect, we, the class ot l94U, Wish to dedicate our edition of the Blue and Gold to Miss H, Alida Raudenbush, Who, by her cooperation and thoughtlulness, has guided many students along the road of knowledge. Having more than 40 years ot teaching to her credit, she has served the Schuylkill Haven School District for 37 terms, giving kind and loyal aid to all those who have come under her influence. We desire to take this means of expressing our appreciation to Miss Raudenbush and hope that she may continue to serve as a guide to the children of Schuylkill Haven.
