DR. BEN WALLACE MR. F. DONALD MYERS District Principal District Superintendent Dr. Wallace's Message to the Class of 1975 The ceremonies which mark the departure of the Senior Class from high school have a paradoxical name: Commencement. While this benchmark is, in a fashion, an ending point, it is in reality a beginning. It is the start of the adult phase of life. The end of high school marks the point at which each person begins to fill in a new slate. As the contents begin to appear, the impact of life up to this point becomes evident. The values the individual holds and begins to apply more independently are the result of the gifts of our parents, shaped by associations, with church, school and close friends. All of what has been learned begins to affect what emerges on the slate. The ultimate force, the one that shapes the outline and determines the detail, is each individual person, himself. Each takes from his past experience those things which are significant and looks to the future. 2 One who reads this yearbook is privileged to share in the facets of high school life which the Seniors, the Class of June 1975, cherish and choose as part of the days to come.

She ties my shoes, Dresses me to keep out the cold; He is strong, 1 know him And he plays with me, Tickles me, piggy back rides. I cry all night with an ear that bothers, Mother holds me. A strong sound, a reassuring voice, my father's. Don't turn out the lights, A monster lives under the bed. Strange sounds, scary sights, Ghosts, spooks, the man without a head. My tummy hurts real awful, If I go to school. I'll surely die. I would rather stay at home, Watch T. V., Olive Oyle and Popeye. I'm growing old. I’m almost six. J. Violette Who is a parent? The roots from which a young person develops and reaches out toward understanding his world and himself. They are the two people who taught us what it means to be a human being. Mediators who cushioned us from the bumps and bruises of life. People who transformed a selfish infant, interested in only his own welfare, into a part of society ready to contribute with compassion and reason. As young adults, we realize that we have benefitted through the examples of our parents. We are in many ways an extension of our parents' ideals and beliefs. They taught us the basic principles needed to cope with the problems which may arise. Therefore, in appreciation for their years of devotion and guidance, we, the class of 1975, dedicate this yearbook to our parents.
