CLASS HISTORY As we stand on the eve of graduation it seems impossible that four years have passed. Yet, as I think back there are many things that have already become hazy. In order that the facts of our class be retained in orderly record, I will write here the events of our high school years before they are lost to all recollection. In our Freshman year we were in the old building. There were 62 of us. That would have been 1955. Mrs. Virginia Gilmore and Mr. Donald LeRay were our advisors. They were very kind to us and we really needed their guidance. We elected a fine set of officers: John Conlee, President; Donald Forbes, Vice President; Patricia Kadick, Secretary; James Hughes, Treasurer. Our Freshman Frolic was a Sadie Hawkins Dance, and what a dance! We also sold tickets for the Senior High Play. How could we forget our Sophomore year. We had such beautiful new sur- roundings. We had new advisors, though we had not completely worn out the old, Miss Barbara Monson and Mr. Michael Nolan. We kept John Conlee as our President, made Patricia Thibodeau our Secretary, Keith Germain our Vice Presi- dent, and Donald Forbes our Treasurer. Now there were only 52 of us. It was another great year. We held the Sophomore Hop and sold Easter candy. The school granted a charter to the Junior National Honor Society. Charter members were Patricia Thibodeau, Dawn Cromie, Rachel Haas, John Conlee, and Keith Germain. Then we were Juniors but only 42 of us were still here. Keith Germain was our President, Michael Petralia our Vice President, Lois VanDewerker our Secre- tary and Gary Rabine our Treasurer. Mrs. Ann VanVranken joined Mr. Nolan as an advisor to replace Miss Monson, who had gone on to school. We were anticipating our Junior Prom, ordering our class rings and selling Christmas cards. They seemed like the most important things yet, for they heralded the approach of graduation. Dawn Cromie, Loi Johnson, and John Conlee were elected to the Senior National Honor Society. We were happy to keep our advisors for the Senior year. Now we number only 40. We reelected Keith Germain as our President. We made James Eustis Vice President, Loi Johnson Secretary, Leonard Gaetz Treasurer. We all wanted to take advantage of our last opportunity to be in the Senior High Play. We sold magazines in anticipation of our Washington Trip. For our Winter Whirl we hired Danny Mulvihill and decorated the Gym, but in spite of our efforts the Hop was a flop. Lois VanDewerker and Keith Germain were elected to the National Honor Society. We will always remember the wonderful days of our Schuylerville Central and the friends we made here. We will have this record to help us in remembering some of the less important things—the facts. AS WE WERE: D. Chiperno J. Blake M. Yattaw D. Corlew P. Murphy M. Mitchell M. Zienkwicz R. Haas H. The soft lights and enchanting music of Lenny Recardi and his orchestra added brilliance to the atmosphere of the evening. The theme, City of Angels was brought out by the gilded harps in the center of the dance floor. The entrance made one feel as if they were entering another world with magic atmos- phere. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the King and Queen. Christine Gailor, last year's Queen, crowned Loi Johnson Queen. John Doran, last year's King, crowned Keith Germain King.
