Published by THE SENIOR CLASS OF SCHUYLERVILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL SCHUYLERVILLE, N. Y. VOLUME XXXI 1947 DEDICATION — FRANCE w. sta toN We the class of 1947, dedicate this issue of the Schuyler to our friend and adviser, Francis W. Stanton, as a tribute to his understanding and competent guidance throughout the years. Always, he has been both helpful and sympathetic to the needs and wishes of the students. His friendly cooperation as a homeroom adviser will never be forgotten by the class. The schools combined under District No. 1 are Saratoga No. 1, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 7, No. 8, Greenwich No. 10, Northumberland No. 2, No. 7, No. 8, Ft. Edward No. 3 (lower and upper), and Wilton No. 9. In centralizing, the schools closed completely were Ea'ston No. 3, No. 13, Saratoga No. 6, and Northumberland No. 1, No. 3, No. 4. The plan for the centralized school was originally voted April 26, 1946. The dis- trict officially began as of July 1, 1946. Since September, 777 pupils have been enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade 12, but at present the total registration is 727. The total number of teachers is 38. Supervising Principal for the centralized school district is John D. Ryan. The mem- bers of the newly elected Board of Educa- tion include John L. Ostrander, Charles F. Platner, Bernhard R. Pett, Peter Young, Leonard D. Murray, Francis Walsh, and Mrs. Louise M. Hughes. The officers are as fol- lows: John L. Ostrander, President; Mrs. Louise Hughes, Clerk, and Mrs. Carolyn Harvey, Treasurer. An Industrial Arts Department, band or- chestra, and chorus have been reorganized, and a kindergarten established. It is hoped that the curriculum may be expanded even more in the coming year. Page 3 FACULTY Mrs. Helen C. Clement Mrs. Linehan Mrs. Domaris Weed Mrs. Chamberlain Mrs. Margaret H.
