DEDICATION The Class of '77 would like to dedicate this year's Yearbook to Mr. Harry Tucker. Mr. Tucker has devoted 30 years to Schroon Lake Central. We, as students, will always remember Mr. Tucker for his understanding, devotion, and unselfishness to his students. He is an inspiration to us all. Schroon Lake Central will always be indebted to Mr. Tucker. SCHROON LAKE CENTRAL SCHOOL ALMA MATER On the hill above the lake side, Caressed by wind and sun, Stands our well loved Alma Mater as she yields her palms to none. To her ever we'll be loyal, We'll shout her praises still, And we'll lift the white and crimson and uphold it with out will. 2 ' rs mMcKenzie Mrs Morissey, Mr. Williford, Mr. Trsver, Mr. Werner, Mr. Marnell, Mr. Noxon 4 PRINCIPAL — Mr. Harris THF WINTS OF FATF One ship drives east and another drives west With the self-same winds that blow; 'Tis the set of the sails And not the gales That tells them the way to go. Like the winds of the sea are .the winds of fate As we voyane along through life; ’Tis the set of the soul That decides its goal And not the not the calm or the strife. IF YOU CAM'T BE A PINE ON THF TOD OF THE HILL If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill, Be a scrub in the valley - but be The best little scrub by the side of the hill; Be a bush if vou can't be a tree. If you can't be a bush be a bit of the grass. And some highway happier make; If you can't be a muskie then Just be a bass- But be the livliest bass in the lake. We can't all be captain, we've got to be crew, There's something for all of us here; There's big work to do, and there's lesser to do. And the task you must must do is the near. If you can't be a highway then just be a trail, If you can't be the sun be a star; It isn't by size that you win or you fail- Be the best of whatever you are! I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you because you have done more than any creed could have done to make me good. And more than any fate could have do-.e to make me happy. You have done it without a touch, without a word, without a sign. You have done it by being youself, perhaps that is what being a friend means, after all. I HOLD T H KEY My will shall shape my future, Whether I fail or succeed shall be No man’s doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me, Or I can be lost in the maze, My choice; My responsibility; Win or lose Only I hold the key to my destiny. 19 Kindergarten Grade One 21 Grade Two Grade Three 22 Grade Four Grade Five 23 Grade Six Grade Seven 24 Grade Eight Grade Nine 25 L. GRADE 5 1969-70 TO THE CLASS OP 1977 Another school year is rapidly coming to an end and the Senior Class will soon be graduating. I am sure that some of you feel that now you are free from people telling you what and what not you may do, but this is not necessarily so as most of you are always going to have some kind of a boss. The labor market at the present time is fairly good although you may not be doing exactly what you want to do. There are always ways of earning a living if you are willing to work. Congratulations and great success after your graduation. Sincerely, Sherman G.
