A school is just an empty building until you fill it with laughing, learning faces Alma Mater On the hill above the lakeside, Caressed by wind and sun; Stands our well loved alma mater, As she yields her palms to none. To her ever we'll be loyal, We'll shout her praises still; And we'll lift the white and crimson, And uphold it with a will. We shall wander in life's journeys, Afar from dear old Schroon We shall drift beyond the mountains, And must face the foe too soon; But the days we spent together, Will cheer us for the fight; And we'll conquer in life's battles, Neath the crimson and the white. CO Mr Harris lias been principal of Schroon Lake Central through most of the lower grades and all of our high school years. Through this time we have come to know him well. We've learned he is a man of his word and always ready to help us through our troubles. It has been a pleasure to work and learn under him, and we wish to express our gratitude. Special Tribute to Mr. and Mrs. Speziali, our advisors, for helping us through the trying days of our bake sales, dances, raffles, . . . the yearbook, and the senior trip. Our thanks to them fortheir understanding and we would like them to know we respect their ability to put up with us. 5 Principal’s Message TO THE CLASS OF 1974: For the first time in many years our country is not fight- ing a war, something for which we are all thankful. Now, we have an energy crisis which will affect our lives for years to come. I can't say it is a beautiful world you will be going out into but I hope the education and friends you have had here will make it a little easier. Very sincerely, Sherman G. Harris Special Thanks Special Thanks to: Mr. McNicol and Mr. Steffel for their help in photographing nearly every face in school this year; To Miss Murray for the hours «pent rehearsing the senior play; and to Thayer's Gift Shop for supplying us with endless rolls of film and flashcubes enough to light the sky; To the cafeteria cooks for their fantastic spaghetti sauce; To Mr. Gillings for his help with the play scenery; and to Brian Goodman for doing artwork for the yearbook. 6 BUSINESS MANAGER Ruth Metthe EDITOR Nancy Dimick Yearbook Staff ASSISTANT EDITOR David Jensen Custodians Roy Hozely Maurice Jenks Fred Vermer Sam Venner Bus Drivers Cooks Jane Stowell, Roy Hozely, Gary Clark, Joe Roblee, Jane Flint, Kay Jenks, Dell Wathsock, Clara Moses, Warren Husted, Bob Bogle.
