THE GLEE CLUB After a season of inactivity, the Schreiner Glee Club has been reorganized under the direction of Mr. P. C. Martinez. Several programs have been presented for the student body and for the service clubs of Kerrville. The style of music that the club sings varies from the popular to the classical, giving the members experience in singing a variety of music. Since the singing calls for quartet and solo parts, the members have opportunities for additional practice along these lines. , . . ,.,, 111:11-, 1hv11L11x1111g 1.11I'1Q1 Nlfwwg X.11:11N. 11.3 x.41XYl11iI N111 XXl1.121111N. Schreiner having discontinued Collegiate basketball in 1942 because ot' wartime restrictions, Coach VV. C. Scareely a we e k has passed since the last game in Intra- mural Basketball was played when W o rd spread l i k e wildfire around the Campus of the coming of the softball season. Many cadets donned their baseball shoes a n d gloves and set aside every afternoon for practice a n d work- outs. At the end of eight days six teams were organized rep- resenting every dor- mitory on the cam- pus. Fif ty-f our boys, willing and working hard, were ready to begin the struggle for the championship. To win Intramural soft- ball would boost the winning dormitory immensely in its progress for the plaque given to the outstanding dormito- ry at the end of the year. It was proposed that everyone who lived in the dormi- tory could play for that d o r m Ui t o r y, which included th e faculty members. By this fact, three teach- ers actively took part in the games and did a good job. Also per- mitted to play were the day students who picked the team that NORTH Sz EAST SOUTH BARRACKS - A I I they desired to play for. As the Recall goes to press, the outcome of the softball race is a long way from certaing however, it appears that Dickey Hall, North - and - East, Hoon Hall, and VVest Barracks will be in the thick ot' the iight all the way. At the season's close the three top teams will participate in a Round Robinu tour- nament which will decide tlie champion. Above: Back row. left to right: McDuHie G..
