Red Domino and Jr. Red Domino „ 2 , •anui Red Domino has done it again! They've batted 1.000 a year with a series of successes that would make a Broadway star envious. The members of the high school drama organiza- tion started the year off with a bang by presenting the annual inter-class plays. Not only did the Senior Class win the coveted prize with its version of The Brave Shall Serve but Mickey Compere was awarded the Fratry Cup for the best performance. The Juniors and Sophs scored hits with Havana Moon and Elmer. Next on the agenda was the spring play. The witty, fast-moving Good-bye, My Fancy was chosen, and rehearsals were begun right after Christmas. With the indispensable help of Doc Ehre, Red Domino's guid- ing light, the members of the cast were able to do themselves proud when the play was presented in JR RED OOMINO OFFICERS 28 March. Later on in the year, the Sophomores, who have their own dramatic club. Junior Red Domino, enter- tained in an assembly with The Haunted Stage. Mickey Compere was the adviser of Junior Red Dom- ino. Officers elected were: Judy Barsky, President; Bonnie Besold, Vice President; and Nancy Nystrom, S:cretary-T reasurer. The young actors and actresses of Port High's Red Domino were led by President Linda Pollock, who has played major roles in high school performances and productions of The Play Troupe. Art Club and Stage Crew ART CLUB OFFICERS 4rt f or s4rt 1 a he Under Mr. Reppeteaux's expert direction, the newly formed Art Club assisted in the decoration of many of the dances this year. It was co-sponsor with the Port Weekly of the well-attended and colorful Artist Colony Ball. Meeting twice monthly the Rembrandts not only planned these decorations but bore most of the bur- den of advertising anything and everything, designing and executing posters, and as spring rolled around. making papier-mache animals to help support the G. O. Carnival. The club, open to anyone interested in art, cer- amics, or individual projects was presided over by. President, Marlene Kiupel; Vice President, Adam Hosa; Secretary, Mickey Compere; Treasurer, Peggy Wurtz. Peggy Wurtz Whistling while they worked, the energetic boys of the stage crew worked early and late constructing sets for almost all the high school entertainments. This involved the making and setting up of scenery and props—a difficult job during a performance. Each member who worked faithfully received a school letter with a specially designed emblem on it. This year's hard-working crew was composed of: John Brown, Virgil Zirpolo, Dick Newman, John Mc- Auliffe, Bob Fische!, Doug Murray, and Noel Couch- oud. Mr. Reppeteaux was the faculty adviser.
