GLEE CLUBS Under the direction' of Mr. Carter, Miss Ross and Miss Prescott, the Glee Clubs have been well organized this year and have progressed rapidly in singing and in stage presence. In the music festival they were rated 'superior'-a fine grade, we consider, for their debut. You'11 hear more from them next year.

STUDENT CUUNCIL This is the Iirst year S. of O. has had a student governing body. The Council has not grown to its full powers, but it has functioned with a very fair degree of success. The students have enjoyed more freedom and trust than ever before and have received fewer penalties. There has also been an improvement in attitude and a closer bond of fellowship be- tween students and faculty. Council members have accepted with great pride their responsibility and have done their best to make student gov- ernment a great force on the campus. The executive power of the student government is vested in ten stu- dents, chosen from the student body as follows: four from the senior class, three from the junior, two from the sophomore, and one from the freshman class. They must be so elected that five of the councilmen are girls and five boys. These ten members, together with the student body president, who is chairman, meet every week. and transact such business as they may have. While no faculty members meet witih them, there are advisers of whom they may seek counsel.
