MUSIC' Holy, Holy, Holy . . . To the strains of this lovely old hymn our choir enters the auditorium each Sunday morning. Many people who come to the School and hear these voices say that the choir would be a credit to any church. Miss Ross and Mr. Carter have done fine work with this group, which was rated l eXcellent in the county music festival. ,.,..f. A- J, i.' q' l' .-,Q , ,Q N i f 1 . YOUNG PEOPLE'S COUNCIL The Young People's Council, which carries out the Kingdom High- way Program, isgcomposed of seven Highway chairmen, three executive officers and the president from each Sunday School class. It is the duty of each representative to carry back to the classes the plans of the Coun- cil These young Christian leaders, together with their adult advisor. Miss Nan Wilson, plan the religious activities for the young people of our church. Phases of their program are: Life Enrichment, Home and For- eign Missions, Enlistment and Training, Christian Education, Steward- ship and Comradship. That each Highway chairman may have guided someone a little far- ther along the Kingdom Highway, is our prayer. Oliicers of the Council are Clifford Hedrick, president: Luther Hend- rix, vice-president, and Mildred Payne, secretary. The following are chairmen: Lena Johnson, Jack Prichard, Jean Sitzes, Merle Reed, Glenn Johnston, Archie Hartzell, Carolyn Brown, Rex Beck, Iva. Adams, Theron Nordin, Elinora Jones, Raymond Reynolds, Coy Brawley and Lovella Frye.

ENGLISH, HISTORY i if' Columbus discovered America in 1492- F'actsg bare facts, young folk. But History is interesting when taken under Miss Wood or Mr. Turpin, whether it be Ameri- can History, World History, or Civics. Three years of History are required and many students take more than the required amount. If you Want to know any more statistics, just ask us and we will ask our teachers. EUGENE TURPIN WOODS ' The English department in any school is un- doubtedly a most important department, because it forms a background for all other courses. We come to S. of O. with very little know- ledge of grammar, and it's true some of us go a- way still with can't hardleys and them thars in our vocabulary, but that is not the fault of our teachers, Miss Wilson, Miss Ross, Miss LeSieur and Mr. Turpin.
